I collect this information in order to:
Provide a counselling and psychotherapy services
Communicate with you and manage appointments
Maintain appropriate clinical records.
Meet legal, ethical and insurance requirements

I process your personal data because it is necessary for the provision of counselling services and in accordance with UK data protection law.

Confidentiality

All personal information shared as part of counselling is treated as confidential. Unless there are safeguarding issues that prevent this. For example where there is risk of serious harm to yourself or others or where disclosure is required by law. Further details can be found in Terms and Conditions/client contract.

How your data is stored
Your data is stored securely using password protected electronic systems. It is not shared with any third party. Sessions may take place either online or by telephone.

Data retention
Once counselling has ended data is stored in line with professional guidelines for complaints, insurance and legal protection for 7 years. After this time period records are securely deleted or destroyed.

Your rights
You have the right to request a copy of any personal information held about you. You have the right to make a complaint if you are concerned about the way your personal information has been handled.
